David P. Dillwood, CPA, Partner

Experience and Expertise:
I have been in public accounting since 1983, specializing in taxation. I started my career in San Jose, California during the technology boom of the early 1980’s before moving to Santa Rosa. I am a frequent speaker at professional and industry events in the areas of tax planning and accounting. I have written articles for the Journal of Taxation and The Tax Advisor, and am an expert witness in accounting and taxation matters in Napa, Alameda and Mendocino Counties. I have been chairperson of the California Society of CPA’s Wine Industry Conference Planning Committee eight times and have been a member of the Central Coast Wine Industry Conference every year since its inception.

Penny L. Millar, CPA, Partner

Experience and Expertise:
I began my own CPA firm in 1985 after working for Ernst & Young in Houston and San Francisco. In 2004 I merged my firm with DBM, adding accounting services to the practice. My specialty is providing accounting, tax and consulting services to small businesses and income tax preparation for individuals. I work with a wide variety of businesses and owners, including rental real estate, non-profit, professional services, retail, construction and trade associations. I provide training and support for QuickBooks users, such as setting up the database, invoicing, payables, journal entries and financials. My goal is to make sure there is an adequate system of internal controls, efficient accounting systems and good management reports.

I love to travel and meet people from all over the world.  I have participated in many community service projects both domestically and internationally and have hosted exchange students from all over. I enjoy the fresh air of the high Sierras, camping under the majesty of the Redwoods, and hiking on innumerable trails here in Sonoma County. My husband and I are wine-making hobbyists and enjoy sharing a nice meal and a bottle of wine with friends.

Christina Z. Hollingsworth, CPA, CVA, Partner

Experience and Expertise:
I started my public accounting career in 2000 in the Bay Area with Arthur Andersen, and later with Deloitte & Touche.  I have been providing auditing, accounting and consulting services for small to medium size businesses in the North Bay Area since 2005.  Prior to joining DBM, I was an assurance service manager at Pisenti & Brinker LLP, a member of the McGladrey Alliance.  I work closely with my clients in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, technology, real estate, vineyards and wineries, and nonprofits. I find it most rewarding to offer my clients with up-to-date industry specific accounting guidance, to assist them with analyzing their business through accurate accounting records, and becoming part of their success stories.

Dominic P. Bosque, CPCU, Director of Management Advisory Services

Experience and Expertise:
I have been consulting for financial services firms for over 35 years, with specific emphasis on improving operations and profit margins for enterprises of all sizes and complexities. I started my career at Fireman’s’ Fund in Marin County, then expanded to include many of the Fortune 100 Insurance firms in the U.S. In addition, I have worked with medical groups, managed services businesses, insurance agencies, manufacturing companies, and industry-specific services entities (e.g., tree removal companies, educational organizations) with an urgent focus on enhancing internal capabilities of all my Clients. I am a frequent speaker at professional and industry events in the areas of computer simulations, business process redesign, data-driven decision-support systems, and organizational alignment with key performance indicators. I have written articles for the various Business Systems integration periodicals reinforcing the concepts of scalable and repeatable solutions.

Jennifer M. Scherrman, CPA, Senior Assurance Manager

Experience and Expertise:
After six years working as an internal auditor for a Fortune 500 public company, I transitioned to public accounting in 2007, with a focus on assurance services. Prior to joining Dillwood Burkel & Millar, LLP in 2010, I was a staff auditor with KMH LLP, a McGladrey Alliance firm in Hawaii. At DBM, I have enjoyed assisting clients across many different industries with a wide variety of services, including consulting, financial statement attestation and the preparation of complex tax returns. I also work closely with our winery and vineyard clients with inventory costing and financial reporting issues. I enjoy developing close relationships with our clients and providing them with the knowledge and tools to help their businesses become the best they can be.

Jennifer K. Pickle, CPA, Manager

Experience and Expertise:
I began my career in public accounting in 2006 at Pisenti & Brinker, LLP a member of RSM US Alliance.  I focused on real estate and not-for-profit organizations.  I worked closely with the real estate developers’ accounting teams, assisting them with all aspects of their business from the day-to-day operations and purchase price allocations to the complications of 1031 exchanges and everything in-between.  After eight years with Pisenti & Brinker, LLP, I moved to private accounting and was the Controller for a real estate investment group based in Santa Rosa.  Over the three years I was with them they grew from a handful of entities owning mainly single family homes throughout California to 20 companies with predominantly multi-family properties in California, Oklahoma and Arkansas.  At the end of 2016 I came back to public accounting to continue helping clients with their accounting, tax and reporting needs.

Tina Perez, PAFM, Office Manager

After working 15 years in the legal field as a Legal Secretary and Paralegal, I joined Dillwood Burkel & Millar as the Firm’s Office Manager in 2006, overseeing the day to day office functions and the administrative team. I am an active member of the national CPA Firm Management Association, and attend the annual conference to stay current in firm practice management.
