Our Story
Dillwood Burkel & Millar, LLP was founded in 2000 by Dave Dillwood and Gary Burkel, two former partners of a local firm in Santa Rosa. Dave and Gary founded the firm with the vision to provide clients with high level of services while being cost effective. We utilize our variety of experiences within the firm to provide comprehensive accounting, tax, financial reporting, valuation, and business advisory services to the full range of industries throughout the United States.
We are known in the business community for our expertise and dedication to our clients. We view every client relationship like a partnership, and truly believe that our success is a result of our client’s success. We are committed to providing close, personal attention to our clients, and take pride in giving our clients the assurance that the personal assistance they receive comes from years of advanced training, technical experience and financial acumen.
Our ongoing investment in professional education and technology reflects our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. We are proud of a firm culture that encourages learning, collaboration, and excellent client service. Over the years, DBMCPA has received repeated recognition from Accounting Today as one of the nation’s Best Accounting Firms to Work For and from the North Bay Business Journal as one of the Best Places to Work.
DBM has strong ties to the community. We perform all of our professional services in-house and never outsource our work. We believe in community service as a way to help strengthen our community and provide a better life for everyone, including ourselves. Our staff and partners participate in service clubs like Rotary and Active 20-30, and many of our personnel are members of nonprofit boards supporting local charity work. We are also proud to be a certified Green Business in Sonoma County, doing our share to help protect, preserve, and sustain the environment.
